1894.
A dark winter night “Black Ridge” millitary base on the northern border.
Thick fog covered everything. So dense that a man couldn't be seen even ten steps away. The air smelled of gunpowder. Somewhere in the distance. a wolf howled through the slience.
Hundreds of soldiers in the camp couldn't sleep.
Because at dawn, there would be war.
And leading that war was one man-
Captain Kim Taehyung.
To the soldiers, he wasn't just a captain. He was the shadow of the batteledield.
Enemies used to say-
“Where Captain Kim Taehyung goes, death arrives before him.”
It was almost midnight. While everyone was inside their tents, Taehyung was alone, patrolling the camp on horseback.
Suddenly...
He noticed a dark figure standing on top of a distant hill.
The figure was completely still.
Even through the fog, something felt unnatural about it.
Taehyung pulled his horse to a stop amd narrowed his eyes.
But in the very next moment -
The figure vanished.
As if it had never existed at all.
A strange suspicion rose in his mind.
He immediately rode toward the spot.
But when he arrived, what he saw made his blood run cold.
On the frozen ground lay the body of a soldier.
But he was neither from their army…
nor from the enemy's forces.
His uniform was completely unfamiliar.
And in his hand, tightly clenched, was a blood-stained letter.
Taehyung opened it.
Inside, there was only one line '.
“Trust no one."
His eyes hardened instantly.
At the moment -
The sound of hooves came from behind.
A soldier rushed in and stopped in fornt of him.
-"Captain."
-"What happened?"
-"The southern patrol unit is missing!"
-"How many?"
-"Twelev."
Taehyung stayed silent for a moment.
Twelev trained soldiers… vanished at once?
No sings?
No trace?
Impossible.
He immediately ordered an investigation.
But the real shock was still waiting.
When he returned to the camp-
Someone had entered his personal tent.
Nothing was stolen. Nothing was destroyed.
Only one thing was placed om the table.
A silver pocket watch.
Taehyung picked it up.
Engraved on the back were the letters.
K.T
His initials.
But he had never seen this watch before.
He opened the lid.
Inside was a photograph.
And the moment he saw it, his face changed completely.
Because the man im the photo looked exactly like him.
Some eyes, some face, Some uniform.
But beneath the picture, there was a note.'
“Captain Kim Taehyung - Missing, 1874.”
Taehyung froze.
1874?
Twenty years ago?
But…. he wasn't even born then…
