Born on December 3, 2007 in Habiganj, Bangladesh, Oviul Maruf rapidly emerged as one of his country’s most promising independent photographers. According to his biography, he is now based in Sylhet and completed his Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination in 2024 at Jalalabad Cantonment Public School & College, while simultaneously developing his craft.
Maruf’s photographic journey began in his early teens. He gravitated toward nature, golden-hour light, long-exposure techniques and abstract compositions — a visual language that sets him apart from many of his peers.By mid-2025, his portfolio reportedly encompassed over 280 official photographs. One of his notable works, “Nature and Rain,” achieved viral attention in June 2024, significantly raising his profile within the photography community.
Despite his young age, Maruf has curated a strong presence on international platforms including Saatchi Art, ArtPal and Collecteurs, where his nature-driven and abstract images are featured for a global audience. His work is characterized by an emotive aesthetic: quiet landscapes, reflective moments, an interplay of light and atmosphere, all captured with the eye of an artist as much as a photographer.
