Ramadan: A Sacred Season for Spiritual Elevation

Observing fast is a better opportunity to purify oneself physically and mentally for those who put a tremendous amount of trust in Almighty.Fast of Ramadan is observed Worldwide, particularly in islamic countries.Firstly we should know why Ramadan month is so significant in Islam.Islam is based  on five principles and to observe fast( according to islamic teachings)   during the month of Ramadan is one of them.

Ramadan has been decreed for upon those preceded us a long ago, even more, since Adam's appearance on this earth ( Peace be upon him), just as Almighty says:

(يا أيها الذين آمنوا كتب عليكم الصيام كما كتب على الذين من قبلكم لعلكم تتقون)

“O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous -” (2:183)

From this verse we can comprehend that it isn't a new decree for the Muslims. Strictly prohibited in islamic Shariah to leave fasting without reasonable excuse as narrated in detail in books of islamic jurisprudence.Ramadan greatly  helps the believers   approach Almighty and come into contact with him as well.

Furthermore, it deals with making a man honest, magnificent, dutiful, beneficent, good curator, exalted in characters, behaviour and conduct  as well as philanthropist in all the cases of human life.Having a profound  connection with the most high Allah a man who does really believe in  Almighty, he can be aroused with divine ecstasy in pray, performing and observing fast as well as in other good deeds, just as, engagement in charity and bestowing activities.

It definitely increases fervour and eagerness more and more in a believer to worship and other deeds of good for the people. In a word, it trains a person on how to control himself from unjust work, and to suppress severe sexual appetite that leads to astray through the whole month. Ramadan deals with assuaging anger , avarice and hatred to others. It also reminds us that we have to stand one day in front of the Master on the day of judgement. Along with it persuades a man to deplore acts of violence he has done throughout his lifetime.

This month is certainly a great opportunity to change a drug addicted person thinks of his changing a lot, as it makes an opportunity for him to abstain from inhaling narcotic materials directly .In this month, everywhere a divine and favourable environment prevails in a Muslim community, and it is an ever golden chance for all walks of peoples who severely feel obligatory to change the life.

Unfortunately, to many of Muslims this holy month wherein the holy Quran was revealed , doesn't appear so important due to not having a changing attitude. Consequently, no changes are seen in them. They run their daily works as before, nothing special takes place in their mindset, rather it works as it is set like before. Nothing can make a difference in their daily diet schedule. They have a large number of logics and reasons in favour of not having fast. They vehemently refuse to observe it, even some of them proclaim it so gladly without any hesitation, although they know its consequences will be terrible hereafter . Ramadan has a lot of benefits for a believer in terms of earthly life and hereafter as well. Recently its usefulness has been scientifically proven. And its effects have been shown from many of the findings conducted by prominent scientists . As a Muslim everyone should all use it best, so that our lives can turn to be nicer and more beautiful in both Worlds too.

Finally, we pray to Almighty to pardon us and cover us by his utmost grace and mercy on the occasion of this dignified month wherein The glorified book Quran has been revealed and to make us from doers of good. May Allah grant them justified knowledge and understanding.
