Perception towards experiences.

Pursuing happiness is necessary, but it can also be challenging and distracting. Sometimes, we may lose sight of what we are really looking for in our quest for happiness. Therefore, I think we should enjoy the moments without questioning them too much. We should learn to appreciate the small joys of everyday life and embrace them.

One philosopher who inspired me to adopt this attitude is Avital Ronell. She is an American academic who writes about continental philosophy, literary studies, psychoanalysis, political philosophy, and ethics. In a documentary by Slavoj Žižek, a Marxist philosopher and cultural critic, she said something that struck me. She was talking about two dogs playing and she said: "When you see these dogs play. Why reduce it to meaning. Rather than just see the arbitrary eruption of something that can't be grasped explicated. in this kind of absolute contingency of being."

I think what she meant by this is that we should not try to impose our own interpretations and expectations on everything we see. We should not reduce the complexity and richness of life to simple meanings and categories. We should rather appreciate the spontaneity and unpredictability of life and enjoy it as it is.
