Where is my letter.

I seek your letter in each call,
Is that the post I hear, after all?
Day gives way as night takes hold,
In my eyes, your letter unfolds.

O beloved, where is your letter, pray?
In hope of words, I sit and stay.
Days refuse to move without your line,
Doesn’t your heart burst, like mine?

Do you no longer pen your thought?
Why has your letter come to naught?

Speak to me, say a word true,
Give me a letter, just from you.
In the waiting silence, I dwell,
Where your letter is, please do tell.

A letter full, we’ll speak again,
    As promised before, without refrain.
My dear, write and send it soon,
Speak to me beneath the moon.
I wait here, my heart entwined—
O beloved, where’s the letter signed?
