S M Shahnoor Honored with "The Global Poet Awards 2025" Universal Poetry Prize

Bengali writer receives international acclaim for literary contributions and Bengali translation of World Poetry Anthem

Dhaka, Bangladesh â Dr. S M Shahnoor, a distinguished Bengali poet and literary researcher, has been awarded the Universal Poetry Prize âTHE GLOBAL POET 2025â, one of the most esteemed international recognitions in the field of poetry.
Born on September 8, 1979, in Bangladesh, Dr. Shahnoor is known for his multidimensional literary voice, encompassing poetry, storytelling, drama, travel writing, and biography. Over the years, his works have been translated into over 30 languages and published in numerous journals, magazines, and anthologies across the globe.

His recent recognition stems largely from his role in translating the internationally acclaimed World Poetry Anthem into Bengali. The original anthem, authored by Juan Antonio V. Delgadillo, a bilingual Spanish-English poet and songwriter from Tamaulipas, Mexico, has been translated into 68 languages and embraced in over 170 countries. Delgadillo, currently based in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas, USA, crafted the anthem to unite humanity through the universal language of poetry.
This Award was given from Juan Antonio V. Delgadillo who is the Founder of the World Poetic Fraternity, Author of the World Poetry Anthem, Creator of "The Global Poet Awards",Editor and publisher of "The Global Poet Journal"
Dr. Shahnoorâs Bengali translation of the anthem has brought this global literary movement closer to millions of Bengali-speaking readers, further strengthening cultural ties and mutual appreciation through poetry.
A graduate of the Marine and Warfare Academy of China in advanced technology, Shahnoor has skillfully bridged the worlds of science and literature. He has authored 14 books and received numerous awards, certificates, and honors from literary and cultural organizations around the world.
His latest honor, "THE GLOBAL POET 2025," recognizes not only his lifelong dedication to literature but also his influence in promoting cross-cultural understanding and poetic expression on a global scale.
