Memories of my father on a rainy day.

Memories of my father on a rainy day।On a rainy day, torrents of monsoon clouds were pouring outside,
Inside my heart surged the intense tide of memories.
I was stranded at a roadside corner as darkness gathered thick,
Suddenly my mobile phone rang with an anxious call.
From the other side, my little darling cried and called,
“Dad, where are you?” binding me with love.
“Lightning flashes across the sky, the clouds are calling,
Come home quickly, don’t stay away.
Don’t get wet at all, or you will catch a fever,
Without you, this home feels empty.”
At my child’s anxious call and innocent love,
I suddenly lost myself in a house of lonely memories.
It feels like only yesterday that I myself was that little,
My heart would ache restlessly for my father.
Whenever such rain came and the clouds would roar,
Holding the window, I would spend my time waiting.
My heart would cry out only one thing—where is Father?
When will he return under his umbrella to our home?
Back then there were no mobile phones within reach,
There was no way to share one’s sadness.
There was only one landline at the office, and that too was hard to reach,
Without news of Father, my heart would be torn apart.
Today, at my child’s anxious cry,
The memory of my father returned in an instant.
Tears gathered in the corners of my eyes like raindrops,
All the old memories came alive within my heart.
My father has gone to that land from which none return,
Yet why does it still feel as though he is beside me?
Even today, if I listen closely, I seem to hear him say,
“My son, do not be afraid.
Come back home quickly, don’t get drenched in the rain,
If anything happens to you, my heart will be left empty.”
That selfless discipline and affection of a father,
Today I truly understand, wrapped in the blanket of memories.
When weariness comes along the difficult path of life,
I search for my father’s shadow in the cloudy blue sky.
Father, can you see your son today?
He has taken on great responsibilities just like you.
Today I am a family man like you, a father like you,
Yet I still cannot forget the emptiness of your absence.
Whenever my own child embraces me,
I feel the touch of the love you once gave me.
The rain stops, and the clouds drift away from the sky,
But the clouds within my heart never quite disappear.
My child’s anxious words and the melody of my father’s memory,
Have tied together the present and the distant past with a single thread.
Wherever you are, Father, may you remain well.
The lessons you gave still light my path today.
May a father’s love live on through his children,
May the rain wash everything away, leaving only this memory behind.
