New 6

  • Continue reading on the home page — sign in and the books you are in the middle of sit at the top of the home page, each with a progress bar. Tap one to open the chapter you should read next.
  • Schedule a chapter — in the Book Studio, pick a date and time under Schedule publishing on a draft chapter and save it. The chapter goes live by itself at that time and your followers are told, just as if you had pressed Publish. Clear the field to cancel.
  • Publish or unpublish a book from its setup page — a new Visibility card and header button let you take a book live or back to draft without opening the Studio.
  • Ongoing, completed and length filters in Browse — narrow the list to books that are still being written or finished, and to short (under 10 chapters), medium (10–30) or long (over 30) reads.
  • A Web Fiction shelf in Browse — the plain Browse page now shows the five most recently updated Web Fictions in a shelf of their own, with a See all web fiction link.
  • Followers and saves in your analytics — the top-content table now shows how many readers follow and have saved each book.

Improved 7

  • Featured by category moves on its own — the home page's category tabs now flip to the next category every few seconds, with a thin timer line above the stories. It pauses while you hover or tab into it, stops for good once you pick a tab yourself, and stays still if your device is set to reduce motion.
  • Waiting for a first reader sits lower on the home page — it now follows the genre tiles, so the books and categories come first.
  • Genre tiles on the home page now fan out the covers of that genre's featured books, and each genre colour has a soft matching gradient.
  • Faster book covers — grids and shelves load a small version of each cover instead of the full upload.
  • Better links when you share — genre pages and Browse now carry a proper title, description and picture when shared, and books are described to search engines more clearly.
  • Keyboard focus — every link and button on the home page now shows a clear outline when you tab to it.
  • Faster search — site search looks at titles first and only reads story text to fill the remaining spots.

Fixed 1

  • The home page can be found in search engines again — it was accidentally marked to be left out of search results.
