What's new for readers and writers on Fiction Factory. This covers changes you'll actually notice — for admin dashboard and internal tooling changes, see the panel's own changelog instead.
New
- Letters — send a private message to another writer or reader, separate from Chatter and comments. Find it from Letters in your dashboard sidebar, or the Message button on someone's profile. Messages arrive instantly while you're both online, and land in your notifications either way. You can mute, archive, block or report a conversation any time.
- Book follows, beta reads and Reader Bounty — the Feed now tracks what you're currently reading, lets you follow books you like, and adds beta reads plus Reader Bounty, a way to reward the writers you follow.
- Report a Problem — a new Errata helpdesk, in the footer and your account menu, for reporting site issues like broken buttons or wrong text — separate from reporting a post or comment that breaks the rules. See Report a Problem.
- Curated related posts — writers can now hand-pick up to 4 related posts to show under their post, instead of relying only on automatic same-category suggestions.
Improved
- Buying a whole book now correctly unlocks all of its premium chapters — previously you could still hit a paywall on individual chapters after buying the book itself.
- A book can no longer end up marked premium while some of its published chapters are still free by accident. Ongoing books keep their price set at the chapter level until the book is marked Completed; the first time a book goes live, you'll get a one-time choice of free or priced for the whole book.
- Sharing to Facebook on mobile now reliably opens the share dialog instead of sometimes bouncing you into the Facebook app.
- The free preview before a paywalled chapter's "Continue Reading" button no longer cuts off early — you now see the whole preview before being asked to unlock it.
- Post titles no longer need a manual web address (slug) — it's generated for you automatically, and clearing the field won't block publishing.
- Signing in now returns you to the page you were on, or the homepage, instead of a broken destination.
- The Book Studio's New chapter button works reliably again; a blank chapter title now falls back to "Untitled Chapter" instead of failing, and chapters list newest first.
- Fixed a bug where a book's page could fail to load if its web address was ever left empty.
- Achievement pages no longer show up in search engine results — they're personal, per-reader pages, not meant to be found that way.
Fixed
- Error pages (like a missing or broken page) now always show a friendly message instead of technical details.
- Fixed a couple of errors that could appear on the new-post page.
- Fixed the "Copy Link" share button silently doing nothing on some setups.
