Bulgogi, which translates to "fire meat," is among the most well-known Korean foods. Thinly sliced beef marinated in a savory-sweet sauce is used to make it. Bulgogi is thought to have originated as a regal meal in the Goguryeo period (37 BC–668 AD). It is now frequently stir-fried or barbecued and eaten during family get-togethers.

  • 500g thinly sliced beef (ribeye or sirloin)

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tbsp garlic (minced)

  • 1/2 onion (sliced)

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions:

  1. Marinate beef with soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, garlic, and onions.

  2. Grill or stir-fry the beef until cooked.

  3. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve with rice or lettuce wraps.
